Est-ce possible de voler son
drone lors d’un feu de forêt ?
NON, ce n’est pas
possible !

Bons vols !
DRONES TO FIGHT FOREST FIRES
Closely linked to climate change, forest fires are more and more
numerous and intense. They require considerable resources to control them like,
among others, helicopters. Since helicopters are overloaded and can only be
used during daylight, the drone becomes a very interesting complementary tool
for carrying out thermography missions following forest fires to validate
whether the disaster is definitively extinguished, or not.
"Exo Drone is drone skills and innovation center and a compliant
operator, that trains pilots, integrates compliance manuals, distributes and
maintains specific drones and ensures the logistics of data capture and efficiency
of missions. "
It is in this context that Exo Drone and Thermodynamique
have been collaborating with the Société de
protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) since 2018 to set up
a solution to carry out these thermography missions by integrating into current
operations so that the drone can highlight all its assets. After having been
able to discuss with all the specialists, we have now developed the procedures
and training necessary for safe operations that do not interfere with the
practices of forest firefighters.
Today, we are proud to show the full potential of our solution, which
has met the high expectations of professional firefighters. Thanks to our drones’
operators and to an experienced thermographer, the quality of our recordings
was deemed as being very good.
This first year being dedicated to the validation of our solution. Now,
we are looking forward to develop with the AERACCESS R&D department an even
better solution to come back in force with even more cutting-edge technology in
2021.
